There’s something special about a night at the drive-in — and at Highway 21 Drive-In, we’ve been making movie-night memories since 1978.
Located in Beaufort, South Carolina, Highway 21 Drive-In is the only drive-in movie theater in the Lowcountry and one of only a handful still operating in South Carolina. For generations, families, friends, couples, and movie lovers have gathered here for movies under the stars, fresh popcorn, and an experience you simply can’t get at a traditional theater.
A Lowcountry Tradition Since 1978
Highway 21 Drive-In came under new ownership in May 2022 with a commitment to preserve everything people love about the drive-in while investing in its future.
Since then, we’ve added a third screen, upgraded lighting and sound, and made improvements throughout the property with even more to come.
But one thing we never want to change is the feeling.
Pulling into the drive-in, finding your spot, tuning in the radio, grabbing something from the concession stand, and watching a movie beneath the Lowcountry sky is an experience worth preserving. Whether it’s your first visit or something your family has been doing for years, we want Highway 21 Drive-In to feel like a place where memories are made.
Movie Night, Your Way
Part of the fun of the drive-in is making the experience your own.
Watch from the comfort of your vehicle, sit outside with lawn chairs and blankets, or settle in around the back of your vehicle for the perfect movie-night setup.
Bring the kids. Bring your friends. Bring your dog. Come hungry and visit our concession stand for movie-night favorites, and keep an eye out for special events, entertainment, themed nights, and other surprises throughout the year.
More than anything, Highway 21 Drive-In is about bringing people together.
